Google connection pending.

The widget studio and embed script are hosted centrally. Real reviews appear once an authorized Google Business Profile connection has been configured. Sample reviews stay clearly labeled.

What is needed

The current release uses operator-managed connections. A self-service Google sign-in screen has not been included.

Operator setup

Store the Google client ID, client secret and each business refresh token as Worker secrets. Enter credentials directly in the hosting tools; never place them in a website embed, public feed or chat.

wrangler secret put GOOGLE_CLIENT_ID
wrangler secret put GOOGLE_CLIENT_SECRET
wrangler secret put GOOGLE_REFRESH_TOKEN_BUSINESS

Configure each public feed ID in the server's REVIEW_SOURCES setting:

{
  "your-business": {
    "businessName": "Your business name",
    "accountId": "GOOGLE_ACCOUNT_ID",
    "locationId": "GOOGLE_LOCATION_ID",
    "refreshTokenBinding": "GOOGLE_REFRESH_TOKEN_BUSINESS",
    "profileUrl": "YOUR_PUBLIC_GOOGLE_PROFILE_URL",
    "reviewUrl": "YOUR_PUBLIC_WRITE_REVIEW_URL"
  }
}

Each configured feed is public for embedding. Configure only businesses whose owners have authorized public review display. No private management credentials or Google account identifiers are returned in a feed.

Reviews refreshed

The backend requests up to 50 recently updated reviews every two hours. Widgets display up to 24. The overall rating and review count come from Google. Feeds older than six hours are withheld; cached data expires after 24 hours. Revoked connections can be disabled by removing the source configuration and redeploying.

After a successful sync, select “Connected business” in the studio, enter the feed ID, and copy the embed code onto your website.
